The Shambhala Principle Book Club

with Gaylon Ferguson
November 7 / 6:45 PM - November 7 / 8:45 PM

The final meeting of the Book Club is on Thursday, November 7.

We will finish our discussion with Part IV: Touching (Chapters 17 - 22).

As you are reading, note the passsages in each chapter that you made a connection with or would like to discuss.

In his new book, The Shambhala Principle: Discovering Humanity’s Hidden Treasure, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche shares stories about his father, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and contemplates the teachings his father presented on basic goodness and enlightened society.

The Shambhala Principle challenges us to join meditative insight with social vision in order to create a culture of kindness and worthiness. Just as the Sakyong did himself, he invites us to contemplate our lives and the teachings we have received. As the Sakyong says in his book, “Even a small change can dramatically shift the long-term behavior of a system. One thought, one word, one person, can make a difference.”

Please join Acharya Gaylon Ferguson every other Thursday in the Community Room to read and discuss The Shambhala Principle.
