Smile at Fear, Teachings of Pema Chodron and Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
with Anandi Gefroh & David Parker
July 15 / 7:00 PM - August 19 / 9:00 PM
In this discussion group led by David Parker and Anandi Gefroh, we will explore ways to uncover our innate strength, confidence, and joy under any circumstances. Our approach will be based on video talks by Pema Chödron on the teachings in the book by Chögyam Trungpa entitled Smile at Fear: Awakening the True Heart of Bravery.
David Parker is grateful to the patient students of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, including his current teacher, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, who helped a skeptical beginner start a meditation practice 25 years ago, and led him into a larger view. He has been active in the Portland Shambhala Center for 19 years, and teaches and serves as coordinator of the open house talks. He is a laboratory biologist and professor at OHSU.
Anandi Gefroh is a long-time meditation practitioner and Shambhala member. She teaches and participates in the drala hikes, deleks and ikebana groups. She is a performing musician and operates Karuna Meditation Supplies.
