with Michael Carroll & Theresa Epp
October 1 / 7:00 PM - October 29 / 9:00 PM
Work-study and discounts are available by request. If you already took this class, you are invited to repeat it at a cost of $15.
This is the first course in the Way of Shambhala Series.
In this course participants will learn and refine the art of meditation practice, focusing on the experience of peaceful abiding and basic goodness.
Meditation in Everyday Life provides an opportunity to deepen our experience and understanding of meditation, with special attention on practical suggestions for establishing a sitting practice in the midst of our speedy society.
Each evening class will include meditation instruction, a talk by a teacher, and discussion of the challenges that we face in our practice. This series of classes emphasizes the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and expand to impact our whole society. While not mandatory as a prerequisite, this course is the perfect companion to Shambhala Training Level I.
These evenings we will study the principles of meditation as presented in Turning the Mind Into an Ally, by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and Shambhala, the Sacred Path of the Warrior, by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
