Mudra Space Awareness (Mudra for short) is a rigorous exploration of one’s relationship to body, mind and space.  The method synchronizes body and mind through guided, focused awareness practice combined with intensive physical presence and movement exercises.

Mudra means gesture. When body and mind are synchronized, natural confidence arises, we are fully present and embodied, and each gesture we make is powerful and thorough.

Mudra was developed by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche from his monastic dance training in Tibet.  It was originally created as the core practice for the Mudra Theater Group and is a precursor of Shambhala Art. However, it is not actors and artists alone who benefit from the practice; the same qualities that underlie genuine performance on stage underlie genuine activity and artfulness in each moment of our everyday lives.

Everyone is invited.

"The Vidyadhara's teachings on Mudra Space Awareness are one of Shambhala's hidden treasures. The cycle of exercises embody his creative genius in making the vajrayana teachings accessible and penetrating. He begins at the beginning-how to be in space-then takes us step by step through how to stand, walk, relate with things, and interact with people. So simple, yet so revealing! " —Ashe Acharya John Rockwell
