"The Marks of Our Existence"
with Pema Chodron & Tim Olmsted
June 5 / 7:00 PM - July 3 / 9:00 PM
That nothing is static or fixed, that all is fleeting and impermanent, is the first mark of existence,” Pema Chödrön says. “Egolessness is a state of mind that has complete confidence in the sacredness of the world. Suffering is not the result of things that happen to us; it’s how we relate to the things that happen to us that causes us to suffer. Finally, each of us has the capacity to make peace—with ourselves and others. It requires that we be open, receptive, and one with our experience and not try to settle the score. Settling the score is the path of making war, whereby aggression gives birth to aggression and violence gives birth to violence. Nothing is settled.
We are happy to be able to offer a recorded version of the weekend program on 5 Wednesdays as follows: June 5th / 12th / 19th / 26th / July 3rd. Cost is $10.00 per class, or $40.00 for all five if paid at first class.
Those of you who have experienced her before know of her insight, humour, and candour. Pema is a wise and gracious teacher. This is one of only two public teachings that she is offering this year. In this program Pema will be focusing on "The Marks of Our Existence" - impermanence, egolessness, suffering, and peace.
