The Shambhala center is going to create a strong environment and support for intensive mindfulness practice right here at 2030 Sansom St.  By doing so, we give ourselves an opportunity to settle our minds, and experience the fullness of each moment of our lives, both on and off the meditation cushion.

As we practice sitting and walking, greeting and letting go of all the habitual stories we tell ourselves, we begin to welcome and befriend our experience, whatever it might be. Then an interesting thing happens: we contact our fundamental healthiness and worthiness as human beings.  Glimpsing our potential in this way helps us to be more available to those we care for, and to be of benefit to a larger world.

Open to complete beginners, as well as seasoned meditators of all traditions.

If this is your first introduction to meditation, please make every effort to come to Friday night, and one of the first three days of the retreat.

Everyone who is taking part in the retreat is strongly encouraged to come to the evening talk on Friday the 9th. This talk will be free of charge.

This retreat fulfills the weekthun requirement for Enlightened Society Assembly as well as other Shambhala programs.

A simple lunch with vegetarian and gluten free options will be served daily.
Dinner not provided but you can bring your dinner or eat out.
