What recent Level 2 students have said:

"Very positive experience, helped a lot for my practice."

"I can't think of anyone who would not benefit from this."

"Such a powerful tool for personal growth."

Prerequisite: Shambhala Training Level I

In Level II, we use meditation practice to observe more directly how our habitual fear and anxiety can lose its power when confronted directly, in an atmosphere of gentleness. We begin to appreciate that there is no fundamental obstacle to experiencing basic goodness.

Just like Level I, this weekend includes individual and group meditation instruction, teachings by a senior director, and opportunities to socialize with fellow participants.

Parlan McGaw
has been a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche since 1988. He is an actor and editor. In addition to teaching here at the Shambhala Center, he has been using meditative techniques to help actors deepen and enrich their work since 2005, when he codirected the first of two weeklong retreats for actors with master teacher Michael Howard at Karme Choling Meditation Center in Vermont. He has since taught programs for actors at Shantigar Retreat Center in Massachusetts, Villanova University, the Michael Chekhov Acting Studio, the Michael Howard Studios, and the Interdependence Project in New York.
