Shambhala Training Level 1: The Art of Being Human

with Marian Bond
July 6 / 8:30 AM - July 7 / 12:00 PM

The Art of Being Human: Discovering basic goodness in the world and ourselves

With Shastri Marian Bond

Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human marks the beginning of
the Shambhala Training path of weekend workshops, and is suited to both
new and experienced meditators. The simple and profound technique of
mindfulness and awareness is the basis of a secular path of meditation,
which can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life.
Shambhala Training is the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship, the
tradition of human bravery and leadership. This path shows how to take the
challenges of daily life into our modern society as opportunities for both
contemplative practice and social action.

This first program focuses on the basic yet profound technique of
mindfulness meditation. By settling our minds, we begin to see the magic
of the world beyond our habitual filters, and experience the quality of
basic goodness which can neither be created nor destroyed. Opening to
ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential
as genuine and compassionate human beings.

In addition to meditation practice, there will be talks, group meditation
instruction and discussions.

A simple breakfast is provided and the program ends with a short
celebration.

Registration: $120
