Great Eastern Sun Region Dorje Kasung Presents
Close Protection Team Training (CPT)
October 18-20, 2013
The GES Region of the Dorje Kasung is pleased to offer a CPT program on the weekend of October 18-20, 2013 in Halifax. The CPT program builds on the STT (Security Team Training) material previously studied and provides an introduction to the view and skills of Close Protection work. In order to take the CPT program, candidates must be recommended by their Commanding Officer or their Regional Denma Advisor and must have taken the STT program and the Life Time Oath (given at the program).
The program has two goals:
It serves as an introduction to CPT work and its specific protection roles. Areas of study include further developing our understanding of the three ring doctrine of protection, working as a team and other CPT principles and procedures. Specific skills will be introduced through talks and practiced and integrated through exercises.
The STT and CPT programs are required for Personal Guard and Kusung service, and are prerequisites for Close Protection Team work. They are particularly relevant in the GES region to those Kusung, Kasung and Shabchi working in and around the Kalapa Court, with major events here and as drivers.
Dorje Kasung who have previously attended CPT programs are also all warmly invited to participate in this program to refresh and deepen their understanding, as well as to share their skills, experience and heart.
The weekend will be co-taught by Ted Clarke, Kado, Glenn Austin, Kado, Kusung David Quinn and Kasung Sharon Meadows.
The program will be held at the Halifax Shambhala Centre. Final registration will occur Friday night at 1800 hours (6PM) with a talk at 1900 hours. The program will resume at 0800 hours Saturday and conclude at 1800 hours (6pm) with a Kasung mess. On Sunday the program runs between 0800 hours and approximately 1700 hours (5PM).
Uniform is #5 Barrack and PT (T-shirt and khaki pants) plus an extra sweat shirt for physical exercises.
Cost of the program is $50.00 for first time participants and $35.00 for repeats (preregister under the "per talk fee" tuition if you are a repeater). The generosity policy applies. There are also work-study slots available. Please complete advanced registration online through the registration link on this page.
The training is limited to 30 participants, so please register early.
For further information and for generosity policy arrangements please contact GES Denma Advisor Ted Clarke, Kado, 902-229-8699, firstname.lastname@example.org.
