Shambhala Training Level III: Warrior in the World

In Shambhala Training Level III we work in a deliberate way. We make an effort to bring the mindfulness and awareness cultivated during our meditation practice into all aspects of our daily life. When we become awake to our sense perceptions, we can venture into the world with confidence and vulnerability that is fearless, gentle, and alive.


The Warrior in the World leaves the stuffiness of the cocoon to explore the world with direct perception. This can be the beginning of a life-long love affair with the phenomenal world, one not based on the reference points of hope and fear or gain and loss. Along this journey we develop genuine confidence, humor, and personal dignity.


The weekend includes meditation training and practice, talks by senior teachers, personal meetings with a meditation instructor, and group discussions.




Prerequisite: Shambhala Training Levels I and II.


Recommended WOS Courses: Meditation in Everyday Life and Contentment in Everyday Life.


Shambhala Levels are structured to offer a sense of a journey, and each weekend builds on the previous levels. The weekend blends teachings and talks with an experience of meditation. Please wear comfortable clothing for meditation, and no perfume.


It is essential to attend the Friday night talk in order to continue with the weekend.






The course Joy in Everyday Life follows this level. Joy in Everyday Life is the third of the five courses and follows Level III. Please click here for a full description and chart of the Way of Shambhala.


The Way of Shambhala series provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation and is composed of Shambhala Training Levels I-V, each followed by a five-week course from the In Everyday Life series.


Over the course of a year, the Way of Shambhala introduces the entire Shambhala path. The series is designed to be applied to the complexity of our daily lives and to develop courage and sanity in these troubled times of uncertainty.
