Children's Blessing at the Tsubaki Shrine
May 26 / 11:00 AM - May 26 / 12:00 PM
This shrine (www.tsubakishrine.org) is one of a kind in North America. It's beauty and that of the land around it is worth the half-day visit. We have celebrated birthdays and other ceremonies there. The Seattle Shambhala Center is a friend of Reverend Koichi Barrish, who will perform the ceremonial Children's Blessing, a blessing for children's safe growth and protection.
During the month of May, this Special Children's Oharae is offered. Children receiving this prayer will also receive the Omamori (amulet) and Origami Kabuto (folded paper Samurai Helmet). Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the blessing.
RSVP today to Robin Willett, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The drive to the shrine on Crooked Mile Rd in Granite Falls is approximately 1 hour. Carpools will leave from the Shambhala Center at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, May 26th. This link is for driving directions to the shrine from the Shambhala Center.
A donation to the Shrine is customary.
