Fearlessness in Everyday Life (Eagle Rock)
with Katie Bainbridge & Christopher O'Hare
May 7 / 7:30 PM - June 4 / 9:30 PM
Prerequisites: Joy in Everyday Life (JIEL). It is also highly recommended that students have taken Shambhala Training Level Four.
Learning to work with our anxiety, we are not blocked by fear. Through an exploration of the Buddhist teachings of mind and the nature of reality, we learn to see clearly. We dare to face life and death as they are. The meditator, open to uncertainty, goes beyond the emotions of hope and fear to experience equanimity.
This is the fourth class in our core curriculum Way of Shambhala. It also offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation and contemplation can impact our daily lives, and from there how the sanity of these practices can expand to impact our whole society.
Katie Bainbridge is a long time Shambhala Buddhist practitioner and student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. She is a Jungian Analyst and a psychotherapist in private practice in Encino. She specializes in dream work and feminine development issues.
Chris O'Hare has been a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche since 1998. He has pursued his love of meditation through yearly retreats and additional trainings. Chris is inspired by the Sakyong’s teachings on Awakened Society, and looks for opportunities to help grow this in the Los Angeles sangha, his family lineage and beyond.
