Meditation in Everyday Life presents peaceful abiding meditation, basic goodness, and ways that meditation practice can improve the quality of our daily life. By deepening our experience and understanding of ourselves through the practice of meditation, we more fully become who we already are

Each class includes meditation, some social element, a presentation, and time for a discussion of how the material relates to our personal life.

No prerequisite: This course is open to all.

Please plan on attending each session of the program. The first and last classes are especially important.

Meditation in Everyday Life begins a new Way of Shambhala cycle.

Molly De Shong is a longtime practitioner of Shambhala Buddhism, with a special interest in applications to health, wellbeing, and communication. She works with individuals and groups as a counsellor, facilitator, and mediator.



Coleen Logan is a client-directed educator, counsellor and administrator with extensive education and experience in western and contemplative arts and psychology. She is a native Haligonian and has worked with individuals, at risk youth and groups as counselor, multi-faith chaplain and volunteer. A practicing Shambhala Buddhist for over 30 years, Coleen has led meditation retreats locally and internationally. She takes delight in incorporating mindfulness awareness and meditation in rich situations and everyday challenges.


The Way of Shambhala series provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation and is composed of Shambhala Training Levels I-V, plus a five-week course following each of these levels. The series is designed to be applicable to the complexity of our daily lives. With gentleness and precision we can develop courage and sanity in these troubled times of uncertainty. This is the first of the five ‘In Everyday Life’ courses.

Over the course of a year, the Way of Shambhala introduces the entire Shambhala path. It offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and from there, how the sanity of meditation can expand to impact our whole society.
