Open House Shambhala Dharma Night: Reading "Simplicity"
April 10 / 7:00 PM - April 10 / 9:00 PM
We conclude our commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the parinirvana (death of an enlightened being) of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, founder of the Shambhala community, with a reading aloud, contemplation and discussion of an excerpt from the newly published three-book series, The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma. The article, entitled "Simplicity," is excerpted from the chapter in volume one called Shamatha: The Practice of Mindfulness.
The evening will begin with 30 minutes of meditation practice. Meditation instruction is offered to new people free of charge.
The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma
The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, based on the teachings from the Vajradhatu Seminaries, has taken more than thirty years to complete. With a preface by the Sakyong, Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche, and forewords by Lady Diana Mukpo, HH the 17th Karmapa, HE Thrangu Rinpoche, HE Sechen Rapjam Rinpoche, and Ven. Tulku Thundop Rinpoche, The Profound Treasury is acknowledged as a major work on the practitioners’ journey on the Buddhist path. These teachings are an essential part of our Shambhala heritage, and the publication of these works is thus an opportunity to share our legacy with a larger world.
