The Shambhala Path of Staffing: Living the Teachings, Serving the Journey
with Janet Solyntjes
May 25 / 9:00 AM - May 25 / 5:00 PM
**UPDATE as of 3/25/2013: The date of this training has changed from Saturday, May 11th to Saturday, May 25th.**
The way that we hold a container for an event in Shambhala expresses something of deep importance to participants about what Shambhala is.
The "coordinator" is a protector and host of the container for Shambhala programs and gatherings. Additional staff positions, such as escorts, food prep/cleanup, gatekeeper, etc., enhance and expand this sacred space. If we can practice coordinating as a Shambhala person, than we will be successful no matter what the program.
This training will focus on the View, deep practice and details of coordinating and staffing a Shambhala Event. The day will include talks, discussion, hands-on exercises, and practical advice.
For people interested in exploring coordinating and staffing as path, we invite you to this training! This program also is open to all current coordinators and aides at the Shambhala Center. Some details are specific to Shambhala Training Weekends, but the Ground, Path and Fruition of Coordinating will apply to everyone doing the practice of coordination, as well as supporting the container as an Aide/Staff.
Suggested contribution of $10 towards the teachings.
Also, we will offer an optional catered lunch for $10. Once you register and receive your pre-registration e-mail, you will be asked to complete a short survey regarding lunch (i.e., if you will bring your own or participate in the optional $10 catered lunch).
Prerequisite: Successful completion of at least Shambhala Training Level III. It is not required, but highly recommended to have had some level of exposure as an Aide during a Shambhala program.
Due to space constraints, this program will be limited to 40 participants so please register early!
