May 11 / 9:30 AM - May 11 / 5:00 PM
Hazel Bercholz, from Boston, will be giving a one day Ikebana Class. She has been a prominent Ikebana practitioner at the Boston Center for years, and before that Boulder and Halifax.
"I feel that in some sense, I have always been a student of ikebana. I grew up with a deep appreciation of trees and flowers, the seasons, spatial relationships. When I met the Vidyadhara, he encouraged me to work with these elements in the form of ikebana. So, I studied with Shibata Sensei's first wife when she taught in Boulder. Later, I studied with Marcia Shibata and others. Although I have never completed studies in the Sogetsu School, my heart connection with this practice is ongoing." Hazel Bercholz
The class will start at 9:30am and end at 5pm. There will be an hour lunch break. You can bring your lunch or order out. Flowers will included in the cost of the class. Bring cutters. If you have a moribana tray please bring it. We have some containers at the center that can be used for the class. You can buy one from Samadhi online if you wish. Also bring a clean water container/small bucket. We will send out a detailed list closer to the time of the class.
Space is limited to 9 participants. Participants should bring:
