The Shambhala Principle (Eastside Shambhala)
with Jim Jennings & Alice Kelly
May 20 / 7:00 PM - June 24 / 8:45 PM
For five Monday evenings (except Memorial Day, May 27th), we will read and discuss Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche's latest book, The Shambhala Principle.
- 7:00-7:30: Meditation instruction and group meditation
- 7:45-8:45: Book discussion
Sakyong Mipham says:
"We have come to a crossroads in our history: we can either destroy the world or create a good future. The Shambhala Principle offers the principle of basic goodness as a way of addressing the personal and social challenges we face...It is an invitation to readers to reflect on their own basic goodness and the basic goodness of society, and then contemplate the question, can we rouse our energy and confidence to create a good world that is founded on this principle?"
Please obtain a copy of the book and read the first two chapters before the first meeting.
Meditation instruction and group meditation will be in the Shambhala tradition, taught by Alice Kelly and Jim Jennings.
