There are different Writing and Movement exercises offered in each session.  The same Ikebana, Soul Collage, and Music offerings are offered in all sessions. In each of three sessions, choose one workshop to explore.  All descriptions are below.

Session 1:

Writing the Buddhist Poem w/ Willa Schneberg - We will read Buddhist poems, discuss what makes them Buddhist and then write one of our own.

Contemplative Dance Practice w/Elizabeth Russell - Meet the moment in relation to self, space, and others in this co-creative process. Technique developed by Barbara Dilley of Naropa University.

Session 2:

Writing with Wild Mind w/Rebecca Jamieson -  We will tap into that raw, hungry energy of our wild minds and begin to learn to let it energize our writing practice, rather than scare us away.

Movement, Sound, Breath, and Being w/ Wendy Allegaert -  Develop a greater sense of spontaneity, play, stillness and strength when dealing with life on life's terms.  The Alexander Technique is a practice for presence, working with play and stimulus and response.

Session 3:

Action Writing w/Caitlin Bargenquast - We will explore a stream of consciousness writing exercise that involves big sheets of paper, movement, markers, and "shoveling."

Personal Dance/Clown Army Training w/Jacob Mooney - Expand your 3-D awareness and expression with this serious practice that produces hilarious results. Techniques drawn from butoh, improv, and clown.

Offered During Sessions 1, 2, and 3:

Ikebana w/Amy Aycrigg - An intergenerational, interactive, playful Ikebana creation based on the Japanese poetry form of Renga, in which several practitioners create linked stanzas of poetry.

SoulCollage® w/ Laurie Smith - A fun process of using intuition, imagination, and image to create personally meaningful (and sometimes transformational!) collaged cards.  All materials provided. No artistic experience needed.

Music Jam w/ Brianna McGeehan - Bring your musical instruments for group improvisation!  Brianna will lead a sing along.
