Thursday, April 4, marks the date of the Parinirvana, or passing, of the Vidyadhara Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, father of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and founder of the Shambhala Buddhist Lineage and Community.
On Saturday, April 6, at 3:30 PM, the whole community is invited to a special Sadhana of Mahamudra Feast Practice in honor of this Crazy Wisdom Master to whom we owe so much.
This feast practice is usually restricted to Vajrayana students who have received special transmission, but on this day, its open to everyone.
In this practice, a "feast" is enjoyed in the middle of a visualization/meditation practice, in this case, the Sadhana of Mahamudra. It is important to understand that this practice is not so much about an abundance of food as it is about recognizing the rich abundance of every moment, just as it is. This is what Chogyam Trungpa dedicated his life to teaching us. During the feast, we will read his poems and teaching excerpts, and drink a few toasts of gratitude for the impact his life still has on ours.
Everyone is Warmly Invited to Participate
