  • Increase their organization impact through collaboration

Workshop Description

Beginning with the engaging story of what it took to create a constructive and sustainable relationship between a university, government agencies, and First Nations groups, this highly interactive workshop will explore the personal, cultural, and social narratives that form participants’ identities. Participants will be introduced to mindfulness practices and apply them to communication. Mindfulness is then directed to discovering the crucial questions that generate respect across differences. Instructions are given for participants to reflect individually, work in pairs, listen without judgement, and inquire without comparison to their own responses. Mindfulness in dialogue is then carried to the whole group contributing their experiences and insights. Participants discover multiple perspectives and innovative approaches as new meaning emerges from the group.

Full program tuition plus accommodations: $190  We invite all who are able to do so to pay the full tuition rate.  By doing so, you make it possible for us to offer scholarships to others, while also covering the direct cost of your stay here and contributing to our year round operations.   Interest free payment plans for 6 months are an option for those who choose this tuition level.

Discounted program tuition plus accommodations: $150  If the full tuition is unworkable for you, please pay the discounted rate if you can.  By doing so you contribute towards the cost of your being here and everything it takes to keep DDL operating year-round.

Discounted tuition plus payment plan $25/month:   If having 6 months to pay makes the discounted tuition possible for you, please choose this interest free option.   The payments would be $27 per month for tuition; if you add lodging to the payment plan it would be $37/month.

Please Note: Above price includes meals but not accommodations. For winter programs, double and triple rooms with shared hallway bathrooms are available in Gyatso Lodge for $35 per night, so for this program the lodging cost would be an additional $70. Huts and Cabins are not available as lodging options for winter programs.  If you are interested in a single room, please contact us about two weeks before the program begins, and depending on the number of registrants, we may be able to offer you this option for an additional $40 per night.

All program costs at Dorje Denma Ling are workable. With either of the tuition choices above, we can provide a payment plan of up to 6 months, and we also match all scholarships that local Shambhala Centers grant to help their members attend programs. If you have any questions about the financial aid or payment plans, please contact us at 902-657-9085 or via email at accounts@dorjedenmaling.com at least two weeks before the program begins. Please note that we cannot arrange tuition discounts at registration.
