Maitri Bhavana and White Tara
August 4 / 9:30 AM - August 4 / 12:30 PM
Maitri bhavana (9:30 AM -10:45 AM) is a group practice done to develop limitless loving kindness. It cultivates our compassion through taking on the sense of suffering of others, provides an opportunity to share our health with them, and acknowledges our deep interconnectedness. The Sanskrit word maitri means "loving-kindness", while bhavana means "virtue" or "quality".
White Tara (11:00 AM - 12:30 AM) is a practice of compassion composed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. It is based on meditation, a visualization and the recitation of a mantra. This practice develops peace, serenity and a sense of protection. When there is a transmission, it is given at 9:30.
