Parinirvana Sadhana of Mahamudra Feast
April 4 / 6:30 PM - April 4 / 9:00 PM
26th Parinirvana of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
April 4th is the 26th anniversary of the Parinirvana (death of an enlightened being) of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. On this occassion, everyone is invited to join in the practice of the Sadhana of Mahamudra feast. This is a rare occasion for all members of the community to join together.
This year is particularly special because the Boulder Shambhala Center and Naropa University are celebrating the publication of The Profound Treasury, a three-volume compilation of Trungpa Rinpoche's Vajradhatu Seminary transcripts. During the feast, Acharya Emerita Judy Lief will read an excerpt from one of the volumes as a way to remember the timeless, eloquent, and penetrating teachings of the Vidyadhara.
About the Sadhana of Mahamudra:
Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche wrote the Sadhana of Mahamudra in 1968 while staying in the cave of Taksang in Bhutan. The Sadhana of Mahamudra invokes the wrathful manifestation of Padmasambhava, called Dorje Trolö, to help us overcome obstacles and confusion in our time.
We invite the entire community to join us for this evening of practice and celebration!
Kindly preregister so we can plan the appropriate amount of food for this special feast. Thank you!
