Joy in Everyday Life (Lion) follows Contentment in Everyday Life in the Way of Shambhala class series. If you are also taking the Shambhala Training weekends, it expands the meditation experience of Shambhala Training Level III: Warrior in the World by cultivating the noble-heart of the mahayana teachings and opening the path to the virtue and celebration of compassion. Through practical methods, we further develop kindness toward ourselves and others. We emphasize the joy and invigoration that comes from discipline -- the qualities of cheerfulness, health, and freedom from doubt.
Please note: Joy in Everyday Life is required to proceed to the next class, Fearlessness in Everyday Life.
Primary readings for the class will be from the books: Ruling Your World and Turning the Mind into an Ally both by Sakyong Mipham; The Places that scare You by Pema Chodron; Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior and Smile at Fear by Chogyam Trungpa.
