Harvest of Peace

September 21 / 4:00 PM - September 21 / 8:00 PM

 It is time to celebrate!

Please join us in celebration of our local Shambhala community during the Harvest of Peace celebration on Saturday Sept. 21, 2013, 4pm – 8pm.  At this time of year we come together as a community to enjoy food, conversation and meditation.   We will listen to a talk from Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche as inspiration to our local and worldwide community.  This will be followed by a unique opportunity for all of us, long time members and those who may have just found us, to practice the Shambhala Sadhana.  The Shambhala Sadhana is a profound practice that strengthens our connection to our inherent basic goodness, our true nature as humans to be basically good, kind, strong, and wise.   Although this practice is normally for those who have attended Enlightened Society Assembly, on this special day we can all practice this celebration of basic goodness together.

The final part of our celebration will be sharing in food and conversation around aspirations for our community.  We will vision our future together by creating a mural that pictures our community as we grow together.  Everyone (all ages) is invited to share in making this mural.   One aspect of our future for our Shambhala Center in St. Petersburg is that we have been working on our building fund.  We will update you on our progress and see what it will take to make our goal. We will discuss resources, both financial and human, needed to fulfill our aspirations.

Please bring the entire family, there will be events for all ages and childcare will be available during the practice time as needed.
