Arts Salon & Celebration of Chogyam Trungpa Paranirvana [Apr 3, 7 to 9pm]

April 3 / 7:00 PM - April 3 / 9:00 PM

In preparation for Shambhala Arts Level I and II on Apr. 6 & 7, we'll talk about how we can use art-making and experiencing to come to our senses, to wake up.

If you're a musician, writer, artist, filmmaker—any kind of art maker!—please bring something to share. A song, a poem, a photo, a short film, a short performance. Each person will have up to 5 minutes for her/his offering.

Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, founder of Shambhala, was a multi-talented artist/performer/calligrapher/poet. His paranirvana is April 4. It's customary to share memories of CTR at this time. We'll likely read one or two of his poems, and read something he wrote on the practice of contemplative art.

A light reception is included.
