Learn to Meditate

In this introductory class you will receive the technique, guidance and experience necessary to start a mindfulness-awareness or “peaceful abiding” meditation practice. Your teacher will give you detailed instruction and guided meditation so that you have the tools for a daily practice.

We will practice together and have time for discussion and questions. Ideal for beginners or students wanting to refresh their meditation technique.


 


Friday night will begin with introduction to motivation to meditate and initial instructions


Saturday will start with a light breakfast from local farm goods, organic fair trade coffee roasted in Wisconsin and organic fair trade tea


*Simple, gentle stretching to prepare the body for meditation in a chair or on a cushion


*Review of meditation techniques and practice


*Vegetarian lunch made from locally grown ingredients


*Afternoon time for hiking the trails, naps, reading or writing


*Review of meditation instructions and more time for practice


*tea break


*Meditation questions and answers, group discussion


*Dinner on your own at the Silver Springs Inn, a short distance from Windhorse Retreat Center


*Restful sleep


Sunday begins with light breakfast as above

*Talk on how to bring the practice home
