Enlightened World: The Three Yanas of Buddhism and the Great Eastern Sun
April 3 / 8:15 PM - April 17 / 9:00 PM
Join us on any of these Wednesday evening at 8:15pm for a three-week, video-based course in which Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche introduces the three-yana path of Tibetan Buddhism and the Shambhala principles of Tiger, Lion, Garuda, Dragon, and the Great Eastern Sun.
- What is enlightenment?
- Three elements of the path: view, meditation, & activity
- How the practice of contemplation unravels the matrix of concept
- How the four maras obscure emptiness and luminosity
- How the virtues of contentment, compassion, equanimity, & selflessness build "inner sustainability" in daily life
Video presentation followed by group discussion, led by senior Shambhala meditation instructor, Donald Eckler.
This event is part of our regular Wednesday evening program which includes group sitting from 7pm to 8pm. Meditation instruction is also offered at 7pm.
Everyone welcome for any part or all of this open evening. Free of charge.
