April Community Practice Day: Karma, Social Transformation, and Magic

with John Rockwell
April 7 / 10:00 AM - April 7 / 4:00 PM

Everything we do has many causes and many effects. So much happens that we are confused by the mixed results that we reap, and we wonder what our true intentions are. We try to help someone, and the situation gets worse. We fall in love, and then run away. We engage in social action, and come away feeling frustrated and helpless. How do we know what to do, what not to do?

There’s no way to avoid choices. Even nonaction has results. The connection between an action and its result is always accurate, though very subtle to understand. In this day of practice and contemplation, we will explore the workings of karma in its journey from personal inspiration to social transformation and how we can connect to the magic of this earth.

We will enjoy a catered lunch and conclude our day with envisioning what activities our community could undertake and with a group planting of magical seeds as an aspiration for creating enlightened society.
