“The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is there’s no ground.” -- Chogyam Trungpa
While our lives may always be groundless, there is perhaps no better example of this experience than one's transition into adulthood. In the challenge of creating a new identity we confront a wide open future, and in that space it can be easy to feel confused, withdrawn or discouraged.
The Young Mediators Group is a meeting space designed for young people who are interested in finding mindful approaches to the issues faced by young adults on a day-to-day basis. Using meditation, Buddhist texts, and contemporary movies, music, art, writing, and poetry, we explore what it means to live mindfully and authentically within the realms of dating and romantic relationships; when navigating the transition from student life into the working world; while finding positive ways to relate to sex, drugs, alcohol, and going out-- and a host of other topics.
Come as you are. No meditation experience is necessary-- only curiosity and a desire to connect.
This program is free.
