Sadhana of Mahamudra

Location: CERES, The Lower Merri Room, cnr Roberts & Stewart Streets, East Brunswick

In 1968, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche undertook a retreat at Taktsang, a sacred place of
great significance. Towards the end of the retreat, the Sadhana spontaneously arose in
his mind and he wrote it down very quickly. Immediately after completing the retreat he
worked on translating it into English. It became the first introduction to a tantric way of
engaging the world that he gave in the West and for over 40 years it has been offered as
an open practice for everyone to do. Over the decades, many of us have been captivated
by the poetry and stirred by the confident proclamation of the truth that whatever we
experience is sacred world. While the Sadhana is usually done on the full and new moons,
we are delighted to offer it on this occasion.
