Heart of the Brush: workshop with Kaz Tanahashi

Drawing with a brush is a wonder­ful way to work with body and mind. Learn the basic skills and contemplative process of brushwork by reproducing ideograms from ancient Chinese mas­terpieces. There is also time to impro­vise and work with large brushes.



Kazuaki Tanahashi, a renowned teacher, calligrapher, Zen scholar, peace activist, aikido master and writer, has had solo exhibitions of brushwork internationally. His publications include Brush Mind, Tao Te Ching: A New Translation, and The True Dharma Eye: Zen Master Dogen’s Three Hundred Koans. More information at: www.brushmind.net
