Shambhala Sadhana Retreat with Acharya Moh Hardin
with Moh Hardin
May 11 / 9:00 AM - May 12 / 5:00 PM
To participate in this program you must have taken the Enlightened Society Vow, and received the Sun Transmission and the reading transmission for the Sadhana, which occurred during the international broadcast during the Lineage Festival on 22 March 2012 with the Sakyong or at an Enlightened Society Assembly.
Although the Shambhala Sadhana is at face value very simple, at the same time it has tremendous depth and profundity. What a practitioner receives from it will be determined by the understanding and attitude they bring to the practice. The purpose of the weekend retreat, therefore, is to deepen our own understanding and experience of the Sadhana.
In his thorough and thoughtful way, the Sakyong has written a guide for training in the Sadhana, which we will use for the basis of our weekend, and participants in the retreat will receive a copy for their further reference. This is a short but remarkably helpful document in deepening one’s practice; particularly bringing depth and power to the visualization, how to relate with one’s body during visualization practice, and obstacles and antidotes that might arise during the practice.
Each session will consist of practice of the sadhana with instructions from this document, and then discussion. We will begin the retreat on Saturday morning with the Sun Transmission to reenergize the visualization of the sun in our heart as symbolizing our basic goodness.
