Responding to Stress: A Mindfulness Workshop
with Jim Colosi
October 11 / 7:00 PM - October 12 / 4:30 PM
“Only that day dawns to which we are awake.” ~Henry David Thoreau
Whatever the conditions of our lives, we have all we need to experience confidence, strength, and ease even in the face of tension, pain, illness, or personal crises. Learning to be fully present wakes us up so that we can begin to foster healthier and more adaptive responses to our everyday challenges. Cultivating present awareness through mindfulness training gives us a way to draw on our inherent inner resources and natural capacities to access greater health and wellbeing. This workshop—based on the healing power of mindfulness meditation—explores bringing body and mind into balance through the disciplines of sitting and walking meditation, mindful yoga, body scan, and group conversations. Everyone is welcome, including those new to the practice of mindfulness meditation
