WoS Level I: The Art of Being Human
with Matthew Lyon
May 10 / 6:30 PM - May 11 / 6:00 PM
Through the practice of meditation, we begin to glimpse that goodness, rather than confusion, is the unconditional ground of our existence. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.
This first weekend retreat of the Way of Shambhala path of training introduces the practice of meditation and the basic principles of the Shambhala teachings. The retreat includes meditation instruction and practice, talks, group discussion, and individual interviews.
Prerequisites: None. This program is open to everyone, and no previous experience with meditation is necessary.
Location: Seattle Shambhala Center, 3107 E Harrison St, Seattle.
Class Limit: 32. Status: Closed
Registration and Payment: Program will open for registration six weeks prior to start of class. Please consider registering and paying online in advance to guarantee your seat and to receive any pre-class information. By doing so you help the Shambhala Center to plan effectively for staffing, food, and material needs. It is also an act of generosity, as it greatly reduces the volunteers’ work for bookkeeping, handling money, and trips to the bank. This is greatly appreciated. You may pay by credit card through PayPal (it is not necessary to have a PayPal account) or by mailing a check to the center.
