 Shambhala Day Weekend Celebration

Shambhala Day, February 11th marks the beginning of the new year of the Water Snake and is one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. The weekend before will be a time for us to express as a community the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting, conviviality, and elegance. Please join us for all or a part of the weekend celebration!
Saturday, February 9th - Nyinthun
10:00 AM Shamatha Practice 12:00 PM Lunch 1:30PM to 2:30PM ROTA (work rotation) During this time, Nyinthun participants can clean, organize, vacuum, dust, organize, tidy, polish the center 2:30PM Shamatha Practice 5:00PM Mamo Chants
Sunday, February 10th - Shambhala Day Celebration!
10:00 AM Opening Chants Shamatha / Elixir of Life Sadhana followed by vows for new Dekyong 12:00 PM Community Potluck Feast with New Years toasts and singing.
Monday, February 11th - Shambhala Day
12:30 PM Meditation
1:00 PM Sakyong's Address
2:00 PM Vows for new Chagdzo and Dekyong
Saturday, February 23th (this event takes place at 636 Chase Road)
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Potluck Community Dinner Gathering with announcements about new center followed by the Sakyong's (recorded) Shambhala Day Address.
