Sri Lankan Vaishaka Day Celebration

(Main Shrine room and Snow Lion room)

Hosted by our friends at the Sri Lankan temple, Vaishaka Day is the annual celebration of the Buddha's birth.
The day includes meditation, dharma talks, offerings, chanting and celebration with food and drink.
There will also be a children's program from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.
Open to all. Partial attendance is welcome.

Schedule for the day:

7.00 - 7.45 a.m.            Eight Precepts, Gilanpas Buddha Puja (offering food, drinks, flowers etc. to Lord Buddha)
7.45 - 8.15 a.m.            Atavisi Buddha Puja (offerings to 28 Buddhas)
8.15 - 9.00 a.m.            Breakfast
9.00 - 9.30 a.m.            Seth Pirith (Chanting in Pali)           
9.30 - 10.45 a.m.           Dhamma talk (English) by Ven. Dr. Punnaji Thero
10.45 - 11.00 a.m.         Buddha Puja (offering food, drinks, flowers etc. to Lord Buddha)
11.00 – 11.30 a.m.        Meditation

11.30 - 12.30 p.m.         Lunch     
      
12.30 – 12.45 p.m.        Chanting- English
12.45 -   2.00 p.m.        Dhamma talk (English) by Ven. Dr. Punnaji Thero (What is vipassana meditation?)
