Good Human Society
January 16 / 8:15 PM - January 16 / 9:15 PM
Join us on this Wednesday evening at 8:15pm to listen to a recorded talk by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche on basic goodness and enlightened society.
On 2 March 2012, the Sakyong, Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche, gave a public talk to an assembly of over 900 people in the historic Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, where he introduced the Shambhala teachings on basic goodness and enlightened society. In pointing out how our innermost feelings about who we are have an impact on society, he stressed the importance of self-reflecting on our human nature. As he said:
That moment when we get up in the morning, that split-second decision about how we feel about ourselves, is really inexpressible. That moment of self- reflection and how we value our own existence has a dynamic and powerful consequence on how we treat ourselves—and especially now, in terms of society, how we treat others.
This event is part of our regular Wednesday evening program which includes group sitting from 7pm to 8pm. Meditation instruction is also offered at 7pm.
Everyone welcome for any part or all of this program.
