'Wisdom and Compassion'
with John Seex
January 30 / 7:45 PM - January 30 / 9:30 PM
Compassion is almost a physical response and can't be manufactured. It is stepping into and being with, as opposed to holding things apart from ourselves. It is a path of surrendering and opening whereby we realise wisdom not as a thing but as the very state or moment of openness where we don't centralise on ourselves.
John Seex is a student and occasionally a secretary, of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. He has been practicing for 20 years and recently completed an MA in Integrative Pscyhotherapy. John is devoted to the Shambhala path of creating enlightened society through befriending all parts of ourselves and entering into the essence of our experience rather than try and manage it. He is co-director of our Chalford Hill group.
This evening will include sitting practice and in the later half of the evening a talk by John. Meditation instruction is available for beginners. If you would like meditation instruction please arrive early (by 7.30pm if possible).
