Wisdom of Aging

March 17 / 12:30 PM - March 17 / 3:00 PM

This very body, the Buddha

This very body with all its aches and pleasures is exactly what we
need to be fully awake, fully alive, and fully human.
- Pema Chodron

Sitting quietly, doing nothing,
spring comes, and the grass grows by itself
- ZenProverb

And because aging happens by itself, we often don’t recognize ourselves in the mirror. Join the Wisdom of Aging group to listen to a portion of Jack Kornfield’s audio “After the Esctasy, the Laundry” with a discussion on how we often lose connection with our embodied life. We will also talk about Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and share what types of CAM treatments we have used and what seems to work.

March 17, 2013 12:30pm til 3:00 pm

Irish stew and vegan soup will be served. Please bring dessert or anything else you would like to share.

For the knowledge and support of Shambhalians on the eldering path, join us for an afternoon of contemplation, topics unique to conscious aging and socializing over lunch.

The goal of this evolving WoA working group is to explore the issues of aging and to share experiences and information from the Shambhala community as well as the Greater Denver area.
