Kitchen Sink Dharma (Westside): True Perception
with Steve Saitzyk
January 9 / 7:30 PM - January 9 / 9:00 PM
True Perception means seeing things as they truly are. If there are times when we do see things as they are, then there must be times when we don't. If so, how can we perceive the difference? Maybe when we believe we see things as they are, it is merely a projection. This talk is about how the discipline of meditation offers a path to unraveling this conundrum, and also offers a path to true perception.
Steve Saitzyk is the Director of Shambhala Art International and one of the founders of the current Shambhala Art Program. He is an Adjunct Professor at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. He is also a painter and published author. He began his studies of Dharma Art and Iconography with Chögyam Trungpa in 1974 and since has taught internationally.
