Have you ever been curious about meditation? Or wished you could meditate more regularly? Designed for people living in the modern world, this course provides students with introductory tools and teachings for working with meditation in everyday life. By deepening our experience and understanding of ourselves through peaceful abiding meditation, we more fully become who we are already are with our innate stability, strength, and clarity.
The course will provide an opportunity to learn and deepen one’s understanding of meditation, with practical suggestions for establishing a sitting practice in the midst of our speedy lives. Each class will include periods of guided meditation, talks and discussion of the challenges mediators face in meditation practice.
Meditation in Everyday Life is the first course in our program The Way of Shambhala.
is a long time Shambhala Buddhist practitioner and student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. She is a Jungian Analyst and a psychotherapist in private practice in Encino. She specializes in dream work and feminine development issues.
Sharon Owyang has been a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche since 2007. She is the Head of Education at SMCLA, a writer, and world traveler.
