The first in a series of courses, the Meditation in Everyday Life course is designed to provide students with the intoductory tools and teachings for working with meditation in everyday life. With simple instructions and support, mindfulness meditation practice can become part of our lives, bringing great stability, strength and clarity.
We experience what happens when we stop avoiding ourselves and the present momentand simply being with whatever is going on in our lives. We learn to cultivate courage and stability in the daily complexities of jobs, responsibilities, relationships, and the everyday desires, concerns and uncerainties we all face.
The course combines recorded talks by senior teachers along with meditation instruction and discussion facilitated by authorized staff.

Class 1: Introduction to Meditation: Basic Goodness and Becoming Familiar with Equanimity Class 2: Using Mindfulness and Awareness to Gather the Mind and Work with Emotions Class 3: Overcoming the Obstacles to Meditation Class 4: Willing to Open: The Genuine Heart Class 5: Meditation as a Transformational Tool for Society
The other courses in the series include Contentment in Everyday Life, Joy in Everyday Life, Fearlessness in Everyday Life and Wisdom in Eeryday Life. The Way of Shambhala I also offers weekend retreat programs that support these courses while providing additional opportunity for deepening your meditation practice.
