Friday 22 February           7 - 9 pm

Saturday 23 February      8.30 am – 6 pm

Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human marks the beginning of the Shambhala Training path of weekend workshops, and is suited to both new and experienced meditators. The simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness is the basis of a secular path of meditation, which can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life.   Shambhala Training is the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship, the tradition of human bravery and leadership. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life into our modern society as opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action.

This first weekend retreat (Friday night and Saturday full day) focuses on the basic yet profound technique of mindfulness meditation. By settling our minds, we begin to see the magic of the world beyond our habitual filters, and experience the quality of basic goodness which can neither be created nor destroyed.   Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.

In addition to meditation practice, the weekend includes talks by one of our senior instructors, one-on-one and group meditation instruction and discussions.  Breakfast is provided (please advise if you are not attending for breakfast), and the weekend ends with a reception.

The fee for the programme is $110.  The discounted rate* is $55.  If you are re-taking, the fee is $50.

Note*   The discounted rate is offered to enable those in financial hardship to attend.  In line with our principle of generosity, no-one should be prevented from taking a programme because of lack of money.  If you require further assistance, please talk to us
