Warrior in the World: Shambhala Training Level III Weekend Retreat

with Alice Tarkeshi & Seth Bregman
April 26 / 7:00 PM - April 28 / 6:00 PM

Developing the Bravery to Step Outside Our Cocoons
As meditation practice expands and we develop trust in basic goodness, we can begin to discover the confidence and personal energy to go forward on the journey. Joining gentleness with discipline leads to a sense of joy. The mahayana teachings on compassion can become the inspiration for a life of bravery and freedom from doubt.

This weekend workshop includes meditation training and practice, talks by senior instructors, personal interviews and group discussions. Warrior in the Word is the third in a series of five weekend workshops.

The Weekend Retreats
The weekend retreats are opportunities to deepen one’s practice of meditation in a powerful environment that meets the needs of a work-week and family life. Rather than having to go away for meditation experience, we provide this training in local communities.

Within each module, the courses or weekend retreats are designed to be taken sequentially. For example, within the Shambhala Training weekend retreats, participants progress from level I through Level V in sequence. You may begin with any of the first three modules listed above.

All are welcome to participate. The Way of Shambhala is open to people of all religious backgrounds or no religious background. It is recommended for new and experienced meditators, as well as those looking to enrich their personal spiritual path and social action in the world.

Alice Tarkeshi has been a student of Shambhala Buddhism for 30 years and in the process has been weaving themes of Creativity and Astrology into the fabric of her understanding. With an academic background of Psychology and the Arts, she teaches the Dharma mostly through her modern Ikebana workshops. Currently she is developing programs that link the Shambhala path with Western Astrology.

Seth Bregman has been a practitioner in the Shambhala Tradition for over 20 years. He is particularly interested in how conventional ideas about meditation and spirituality can become obstacles to genuine insight, relaxation and happiness. He's grateful for his unexpectedly 'normal' life which includes a lovely wife, a house in the suburbs and an exceptionally good dog named Kiki. Seth has worked in the music, film and technology industries for many years and currently works as a Director of IT for Live Nation.
