 Contentment in Everyday Life
with Sandra Ladley & Sarah Mandel
January 31 / 6:30 PM - January 31 / 9:00 PM
Contentment can be hard to find. Much of the time we search for contentment in things, achievements or relationships. With meditation practice, we relax with ourselves and appreciate simple human experiences. Difficult emotions and challenges of life can be met with gentleness, mindfulness and inquisitiveness, free from self-aggression.
As we continue with the In Everyday Life series, meditation experience is deepened through the cultivation of contentment and simplicity. We explore the foundational views of the hinayana Buddhist teachings and meditation in action for daily life. Through understanding the painful conditions and emotions that keep us trapped in habitual patterns, we can open to our inherent goodness and express the qualities of the Tiger: gentleness, appreciation and steadiness.
This class is open to all. Contentment in Everyday Life is the second in the series of five Way of Shambhala I classes and is the companion class to Shambhala Training Level II. Prior Shambhala meditation instruction, attendance at Shambhala Training Levels I & II and Meditation in Everyday Life are recommended but not required.
Please note: This class is required to proceed to the next class, Joy in Everyday Life.
