Dessert Potluck and Sustainability Salon
November 30 / 7:00 PM - November 30 / 9:00 PM
Please come to our next dessert potluck and sustainability salon at 7 PM on Friday, November 30th. At this Salon we will be hosting a guest speaker who will tell us about Fourth Corner Exchange, a way of purchasing and selling goods and services without using US dollars. Fourth Corner Exchange began in Bellingham several years ago, and is being used for exchanging everything from furniture to yard care to medical services.
You are invited to create a dessert dish using local or organic ingredients to the best of your ability. Also, feel free to bring something that you would like to trade and let's see what happens!
Open to everyone.
"Everything that we do in Shambhala -- from meditation practice to running a centre to raising our children -- can be understood as part of a social movement to create enlightened society based upon confidence in primordial goodness. The Sakyong would like us to gather together to further bring this vision to life and thus 'make the impossible possible.' After reading many of the responses to the Letter of the Morning Sun, the Sakyong feels that our community is longing to manifest this social vision with increasing strength."
