A Model of Care: Starting and Maintaining Care Teams Within Our Sangha

November 17 / 1:00 PM - November 17 / 3:00 PM

Gretchen Neve, Director of Societal Health and Well Being will be orienting us to organized approach to initiating and maintaining Care Teams here at the center.  Care Teams are small groups of folks who come together and work as a team to provide care to persons in the community who need help, such as those who are recovering from surgery or those who are acutely ill.  If you don't know much about care teams but want to find out more, please join us.

Join us from 1-3pm, with lunch provided at noon.

After enjoying lunch, we will watch Mary Whetsell, the Director of the Office of Societal Health and Well-being, in a recorded presentation. With 15 years as a Care Team trainer for 15 years, she has drawn from her experience and expertise to present a simple and effective model that helps teams give the optimal amount of serviceand support while preventing burn-out among team members. After watching the presentation, we will talk about whether this is something we want to initiate within our sangha and, if so, how to get it started.  Everyone is welcome! Whether from Roger's Park or any of the growing groups centered in DesPlaines, Mattson, Hyde Park, and Oak Park!
