Building Community, Envisioning Our Future, a Weekend Program with Julie Soquet and Mary Whetsell

January 25 / 7:00 PM - January 27 / 5:00 PM

All current members of the center are invited to participate in this weekend program, which begins Friday evening and ends on Sunday.

January 25 - 27, 2013

Lunch and tea will be provided both days.

Friday Evening - The View and Practice of Community

This part of the program sets the ground for both days, and connects the practice of community to the creation of enlightened society.

Saturday - Communication Life Skills to Promote Enlightened Society & Healing Ceremony

This day will focus on listening skills, working with one’s own mind and heart in difficult or conflict situations, and offers a healing opportunity for the community through a ritual.

Sunday – Raising the Banner:  Who Do We Want to Be, How Do We Get There?

This workshop will build on the work done Friday night and Saturday and offer participants the opportunity to create their own center vision for Minneapolis. The workshop is designed to offer a playful approach to imagining this vision.  Working groups will be formed to begin exploring how to make things happen to respond to both the vision and peoples’ concerns.

Please note: Due to the deeply interpersonal nature of this program, it is not possible to "drop in" once it has already begun. If you are unable to attend the entire program, it is OK to begin with the group on Friday night and then leave at whatever point you need to during the weekend. Once you have left, however, it is not possible to rejoin the group.

Program Fee:  $75
