Children's Day Solstice Ceremony
December 21 / 4:30 PM - December 21 / 8:00 PM
The Sangha and children of all ages are invited to embrace the dignity of family and the joy and creativity of the youthful heart.
Children's Day falls on December 21st, the winter solstice. Because the solstice marks the time of year when the night is longest and daylight has waned, light is a special characteristic of this holiday. The celebration will cater to children ages 18 months to 12 years, but young and old will delight in this celebration of the senses!
Please come in uplifted attire and bring a potluck dish. Your child may want to bring a small offering for the Children's Shrine (examples of offerings vary widely, but might include special treasures found in nature, potted plants, edible treats, and handmade decorations.)
4:30-5:30 - Families and community are invited to gather and socialize. The Center will provide.a heavy snack so that little tummies will be well-nourished before the ceremony.
5:30-6:30 - Join us in the Shrine Room as the King and Queen of Shambhala will lead us in our Celebration.
6:30 - 8:00 - The community will enjoy a potluck dinner and smores for dessert!
Please RSVP below. If you have any questions please contact Sera Bonds at firstname.lastname@example.org or Ginny Wilkinson at email@example.com.
