Kyudo, "the Way of the Bow", is the ancient discipline of Zen archery. The practice of Kyudo is elegant and deceptively simple. Neither age, sex, nor physical strength have any significance, so both young and old and those from all walks of life, are attracted to Kyudo.
Kyudo, a standing form of meditation, is unlike sport archery in that hitting the target counts for little. In Kyudo, the target serves only as a mirror of one's mind. With this practice the aim is to synchronize body and awareness in the present moment, and thus purify the heart and mind. Confidence and natural dignity are the result.
Kyudo Japanese Zen archery classes meet off site every Sunday, rain or shine, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Equipment is provided.
